Biography

Early life

Aimee attended the University of Florida. After several years of studies and activism within the campus Student Government, Aimee has been tapped by The Circle, earned several degrees, and united the old factions of independents and greeks under her Alliance Party banner. She battles an upstart generation of younger students under the SOAR banner, and emerges as Student Body President. After her term in office, she finally leaves Gainesville to pursue a career in law enforcement [Reunion].

Miami-Dade District Attorney

During the filming of A True Gator Party, Aimee is working as a district attorney in Miami-Dade county. She is asked her opinion of the Adams novel, but otherwise does not play a significant role in the tragic events that unfold over the parody of campus politics [Reunion].

Freelance detective

After her term as District Attorney is over, Aimee began work as a freelance detective. She eventually relocates to Brevard County, where she helps the Sheriff's office deal with particularly perplexing cases. It is in this capacity that she is brought in to assist the FBI in dealing with the kidnapping of Ashley Woodward [Proxy].

Claim to fame

Aimee receives national attention after she receives an eerie message that suggests a sex scandal involving a member of the Supreme Court [Proxy]. After several months of sleuthing, she successfuls breaks the lid on the scandal, forcing the Justice to resign in disgrace. Her fame lends her renewed credibility for examining crime scenes, which she undertakes as her new specialty [Confirmation].

Crime scene consultant

In the opening chapter of Confirmation, she is brought in to investigate the apparent suicide of Larry Jenkins, a country lawyer. She is not convinced he killed himself, even though the Sheriff is. Her determination to uncover the truth will uncover far more than she ever expected.

Character traits

In college, Aimee was ambitious and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve her goals. Afterwards, this drive to succeed was put into her legal career, where it manifests itself as a compulsion to rapidly and conclusively close cases. Over time, her professionalism and experience has slowed her down, made her more methodical and comprehensive in her approach. This intensity has meant she is rarely close to anyone, although she is on good terms with just about everyone she knows.

Trivia

  • Aimee was initially a one-gag character in Reunion at University Avenue, although she gained some backstory during that novel's rewrite. For the second novel, she worked her way into a small but pivotal role in investigating Ashley's kidnapping. And because of her role in the third novel, she is now one of the main characters in the series.
